Introduction
Dear all,
I have finished (in some sense) the development of basic Sprintanium version. Please feel free do download it, install, use, and report about any problems or raise any suggestions to have.
There is no documentation ready yet, so I explain shortly it here:
1. After you launched Sprintanium, you will see a dialog asking you to login. Create any profile (password is optional), and use it for login.
2. Next a dialog appears asking you how to publish your service. The default values suggest that you have your client next to you, so just press OK.
If you are using PC with one monitor, the output ("Screen") window will appear on top of the desktop, and the window you type the text in is the lower window. If you have a desktop split between two monitors, "Screen" window will appear on the other monitor.
3. Press F2 to see the options that you may customize:
a. Speakers: you can define names of conversation speakers
b. Icons: see the icons you can insert while typing. You can load your own icons, if you
need. Be careful with animated icons: by default, animation is disabled as it may cause
application slowness.
c. Formatting: see what shortcuts you can use to format the text.
d. Scenarios: text settings applied to "Screen" window (the scenario that is selected is used)
e. View: text settings applied to the text typing window.
f. Text transmitter: by default, text goes from your window to "Screen" window after you
type a phrase of 15 characters of more, without any delay. In addition, you can use
Ctrl+Enter any time there is a text not sent yet.
g. Abbreviations: create your own list of abbreviation and expand then using a shortcut
(button "Applications", [the one with Windows logo, close to Control and Alt buttons], by
default)
h: Word completion and prediction: Sprintanium collects words that are at least 6
[customizable] letters in length, and uses them to suggest word ending as you type. By
default, it shows up to 3 suggestion [shortcuts are Up, Right, Down], but you can limit it
to one, or event disable this feature. Suggestions ("tip" with words) appear under the
typing word, and you can customize it view. Word prediction does not work in this
Sprintanium version.
i: Other: you can log event into XML file, in case you need it for any reason. There is no
tool ready yet that can analyze Sprintanium log files.
So, here you are, and I will be happy to get any feedback about it.
Feel free to send this email to your colleagues.
Kind regards,
Oleg Spakov
